Good morning Barnardsville families! We have food and resources available at school. We have set this up as a drive through service to keep things running more efficiently. Please stay in your car and follow the drive through directions and someone will bring you what you need. Below is a supply menu. We also have a medical team here for part of the day. Based on the Hurricane's tremendous impacts to our families and neighborhoods, the decision has been made to close all Buncombe County Schools for the entire week, Monday Sept. 30 through Friday Oct. 4. These will be annual leave days for staff. In the days, weeks, and months ahead, the school system is committed to continue supporting our families and staff. We hope you and your family continue to be safe. We'll continue to keep you updated as our team works to safely reopen our schools. Thank you.
As our area continues to cope with impacts of Hurricane Helene, Buncombe County Schools will be closed Mon 9/30 and Tue 10/1. Both days are annual leave days. As our school system continues working with local emergency management officials, we will keep you updated about schedules for the coming days. Please stay safe!

Summer Feeding at BES this morning from 9-10. Come pick up delicious take home meals. Your child does not have to be present, and you don't have to "need" it- your child just has to want it :) Picking up meals will keep the program viable so that we can keep offering this service. If your child wants to read a book first, come at 8:30. See you soon! :)

Our students had a blast at the Southern Conference Education Days at Harrah's Cherokee Center - Asheville! Students enjoyed a morning of high-energy basketball fun, and found inspiration in talented college athletes, musicians, and performers! "The NC School Report Cards website contains snapshots of information about our schools, including the school performance grade, students’ academic growth, how prepared our students are when they enter a school, and a number of other measures as well," said NC Superintendent Catherine Truitt. "These resources are readily available for you and allow transparency into aspects like spending as well as school performance. Although this information is important to know, we know it doesn’t tell the complete story. It doesn’t show the hard work our educators pour in each day for their students and schools and it doesn’t show the spirit of the school itself. No data will be able to show the dedication of our educators nor will it show the extracurricular opportunities, the athletic programs, the apprenticeship, or career preparatory classes - all of which have a profound impact on students and growth."
