Behavior Plan

Behavior Management Plan:

This year we are implementing the PBIS model in our school. PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. Details about this plan can be found in both the student handbook and the parent handbook. A common positive language will be used throughout the entire school by all teachers, assistants and specialists. Although this is a school wide behavior plan, I will also be implementing a classroom behavior plan.

In our classroom, we will be working together as a family. We strive to keep a positive environment. We will also make sure each and every day that students are being treated fairly and respecting each other.The following is a list of classroom rules and expectations that are expected to be followed.


  • Follow directions the first time they are given
  • Be helpful
  • Keep your hands, feet and objects to yourself
  • Treat others the way you want to be treated
  • Use kind words and give compliments
  • Always do your best
  • Work together as a team
  • Be responsible and show respect
  • Listen to others and respect their opinion
  • Raise your hand to speak

If these simple rules are not followed, the following is how the behaviors will be handled.

  • 1st - Warning: A positive verbal reminder of our rules/expectations will be given
  • 2nd - A second positive verbal reminder will be given and student will receive a second warning that will be recorded on Class Dojo.
  • 3rd - The student receive a second check on the PBIS checklist and be asked to fill out a reflection sheet.
  • 4th - The student will receive a third check on the PBIS checklist and be bounced to another classroom to complete their work and also fill out a second reflection sheet.
  • If no improvement is shown, the student will be removed to Mr. Miller's office and a referral note will be sent home from the office.

Positive Reinforcement:

          When students are exhibiting positive behavior, they will be rewarded by being given a Dojo point. For every 25 points they earn, they will receive a coupon for a reward (i.e. wear a hat to school). If they earn 125 points within a 9 week period, they will have the chance to participate in a school wide reward (as long as there are no major referrals - including bus referrals).
