Welcome to the Media Center

Hello!  My name is Anna Rice, I am the Media Specialist.  I am thankful and feel so blessed to be a part of the Barnardsville Elementary family! I am excited about the school year and continuing to learn more about how to help your child be a 21st Century Learner.

Let me tell you a little about myself; I live in Weaverville with my husband, dogs and chickens.  I am from Weaverville, born and raised.  I'm a mountain girl through and through.  Although I have never lived in Barnardsville, I have enjoyed going to many events in the community such as fireworks, swimming, and visiting many of the churches. 

I graduated from UNCA in May 2006 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a K-6 teaching certification.  I taught second grade here at Barnardsville for five years. I graduated from Appalachain State University with a Masters Degree in Library Science in December 2012.  I began my position as Media Specialist in August of 2011.  I was honored to be Barnardsville Elementary teacher of the year in 2010 and 2017. I am dedicated to seeing that every child has the best experience possible in the Media Center.
